Brandix Lanka Pvt Ltd
Brandix Lanka PVT LTD, a prominent player in the fashion and manufacturing industry, boasts a workforce of over 60,000 employees and an annual turnover exceeding $600 million
Fcode Labs collaborated with Bandix to develop a BOM (Bill Of Materials) Automation System that fully automates the workflow of entering raw material data of every placement line to their PLM. This project aimed to eliminate human errors during manual data entry and reduce the everyday effort required to update the material details against production lines.
The raw material details are typically kept in Excel files with 20 to 30 columns and over 100 lines. Entering these data and making sure these are mapped to the correct items in the PLM system was manual labour intensive and often resulted in mistakes. Transforming this process digitally requires handling large Excel and CSV files while validating every data field and mapping those to the correct item in the PLM system. Also, we made sure the Brandix team adopted this platform by designing an intuitive and easy-to-use product and providing training onsite and online.
Zero errors in entering the material details while reducing the human effort required by 90%. The whole system architecture, testing, and deployment were handled by the Fcode Labs team while providing ongoing support for the maintenance of the platform.
The platform aims to digitize, automate, and monitor the process of an order receiving from the client to products being produced in the production facilities.
There are several manual processes that involve in between, to verify and getting an order to the production house. These processes are digitalized and automated with a microservices-based workflow management tool developed by Fcode Labs.
Clients can submit their orders in their preferred format (Excel, CSV, PDF,EDI) directly into the CPO2 system. The system workflows will make sure the orders are processed accordingly with the relevant interventions of Brandix staff.
Fcode Labs had extensive customer interviews with Brandix merchandisers of different SBUs and other related factory staff to identify the current processes.
Referenced the Brandix’s enterprise architecture when designing the solution.
Different customer orders had different ways of handling. All these different processes were mapped down to one common workflow and implemented the solution in few phases.
The tool is only a part of a much larger digitalization strategy of Brandix Limited. In the end this platform is connected to the central system of Brandix in collaboration of other Brandix development teams as well.
